Ms. Santashia Reed

Executive Director & Founder

As one of the founders of FSBH, I bring over 20 years of experience in nursing and leadership skills with a dedicated focus on serving troubled and at-risk adolescents. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with youth in a variety of settings, including group homes, addiction treatment facilities and with incarcerated teens. These experiences have giving me a comprehensive understanding of the complex challenges young people face, as well as the resilience they carry within them which is why I come with a deep commitment to caring for and supporting young people during some of the most critical stages of their lives. Throughout my career, I have witnessed both the challenges that adolescents face and the incredible resilience they carry within them. These experiences drive my commitment to building a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth feel genuinely understood. My dedication to this work is deeply personal. Having experienced childhood trauma myself, I understand first-hand the lasting impacts it can have- but also the strength it takes to overcome it. This lived experience fuels my commitment to helping others heal, grow, and realize that their past does not define their future. I am dedicated to making sure every young person we support receives the guidance, resources, and motivation they need to overcome their difficulties. My vision is rooted in a genuine desire to see every adolescent thrive; emotionally, mentally, and socially. I believe that with the right support, guidance, and opportunities, each young person can overcome obstacles, discover their strengths, and build a foundation for a healthy and successful adulthood. To me, FSBH is more than a place of care; it is a place of growth, empowerment, and for the future

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing and Trauma-Informed environment where adolescents can heal, grow and thrive. Through Compassionate care and meaningful relationships, we empower young people to build resilience, develop life skills, and embrace their potential. We help individuals build emotional health, responsibility, and self-worth for independent adulthood. Compassion isn’t just a feeling at FSBH; it is something that our youth will see, hear, and experience in everyday interactions. Our staff understands that behaviors often come from past trauma, not defiance and instead of reacting, we’ll calmly ask questions to find out the underlined cause to helps the youth feel safe. Our focus is to create emotional safety by making sure our youth know that they will never be shamed, ridiculed or dismissed and that they are worthy of care, respect, and a better future. At FSBH our goal is to prepare each youth to learn to navigate challenges, regulate emotions, build healthy relationships, and continue to persevere towards a positive and independent future even in the face of adversity. We prepare youth with life skills and help them move from survival mode to purposeful living
